ABOUT THIS RELEASE
This is the Japanese Premium Box edition of the 2023 remaster of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse — the entry that originally released only in Japan on Wii and never saw a Western physical release until this remaster. The Premium Box was a Japan-exclusive limited edition and was not produced for the North American market.
Nintendo Switch is region-free, so this will play on any Switch console worldwide.
IMPORTANT — REGION NOTE FOR DLC AND DOWNLOAD CONTENT
The Nintendo Switch console is region-free and this cartridge will play on any Switch worldwide. However, downloadable content is region-locked to the eShop region it was purchased from:
- DLC purchased from the US eShop will NOT work with this Japanese cartridge.
- To purchase DLC for this version, you will need a Japanese Nintendo Account and to buy from the Japanese eShop.
- The included soundtrack download serial is a Japanese eShop code and will require a Japanese Nintendo Account to redeem.
This is standard for Japanese Switch releases and is not a defect. I'm noting it so there are no surprises — if DLC access on your primary US account is important to you, the Western release of this game may be a better fit.
The base game itself is complete and fully playable with no DLC required.
SOUNDTRACK DOWNLOAD CODE — UNVERIFIED
This edition includes a download serial for the soundtrack (153 tracks). Because this copy is sealed, I have no way to verify the code's status without opening it, and I will not be doing that.
Japanese eShop download codes from this era sometimes carry a redemption deadline. I do not know whether this code has expired, and I have no way to find out. Please assume it may not be redeemable and factor that into your purchase. The physical soundtrack CD included in the box is unaffected either way.
I am not making any representation that the code works. If a working download serial is essential to you, please do not purchase.
CONDITION
Factory sealed. The shrink wrap is intact across all faces with the original factory crimping visible along the edges and the tear strip in place. On inspection I found no damage to the box — no corner crushing, no edge wear, no dents or creases in the wrap.
I want to be straightforward: I've examined this carefully and photographed it from every side, but on a sealed item there is always a possibility of something small being missed. What you see in the photos is what you're getting. If you want additional photos of any specific area before buying, message me and I'll take them.
Contents are unopened and have never been handled.
