Condition & Restoration Details

* Overall Preservation: The instrument has been partly preserved and restored. It's in a very good state of historical preservation.

* Restoration: Has undergone minor, careful cosmetic restoration to honor its original presentation.

* Woodwork: The wood finish has been refreshed, remaining faithfully similar to the original 19th-century patina.

* Glass & Jars: Features newly created glass discs and the addition of replacement Leyden jars, as the original components were long lost to time.

* Functionality: Please note this machine is currently not fully functional and is being sold as an exquisite static display piece. However, it could possibly be made functional with minor modifications / adjustments by a skilled technician.

* E475: We believe this to be an inventory number from a school or university. Possibly E is for electrostatic and 475 is for April of 1875 (the acquisition date perhaps)
