This is a group of 4 polished pieces of Burmite (Burmese) amber that each contain fossil insects that lived during the time of the dinosaurs.
The fossils include a piece with a nice looking cricket with a small beetle next to it, a second piece has a roach with a barklouse, a third piece with a wasp, and a fourth piece with a nice looking fungus gnat. These all lived with the dinosaurs. You will receive the exact specimens shown in the pictures.
It is fascinating to note that these insects were around when dinosaurs were still walking the Earth including T-Rex and Triceratops!
The pieces weigh a total of 2.6 grams with approximate lengths between 1.3 and 2.4 cm length. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.
They make for a most unique conversation piece.

Burmese amber has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).

Please note that the saltwater
test to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater test
claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.
However, many amber sources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My feedback should help demonstrate this.
