This is made of thick heavy steel. It is rusty, it would need sandblasting and etch priming asap
I have sprayed it with WD40 and wire brushed it. It is fully functional and good if you want to restore it and have a heavy gauge steel lid on your battery instead of one of these thin gauge repro's that are likely to blow away in a gusty wind!
I took as many photos as I could showing the rust and how thick the sheet is.
