NEW Pit-Road 1/350 IJN Mitsubishi A1M PETE and Aichi E13A JAKE Floatplanes Set 5 – Pre-painted and Assembled
Pit-Road (formerly Skywave) models has firmly established a reputation for creating high quality models with previously unparalleled levels of detail. A few years ago, they released these pre-painted and assembled 1/350 scale aircraft that add amazing realism to any 1/350 scale models. This set depicts typical shipboard floatplanes, one type being a Mitsubishi F1M observation aircraft, the other an Aichi E13A 3 seat floatplane.
The Mitsubishi F1M (Allied reporting name "Pete") is a Japanese reconnaissance floatplane of World War II. It was the last biplane type of the Imperial Japanese Navy, with 944 built between 1936 and 1944. The Navy designation was "Type Zero Observation Seaplane" (零式水上観測機).
The Aichi E13A (Allied reporting name: "Jake") is a long-range reconnaissance seaplane used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) from 1941-45. Numerically the most important floatplane of the IJN, it could carry a crew of three and a bombload of 250 kg (550 lb). The Navy designation was "Navy Type Zero Reconnaissance Seaplane" (零式水上偵察機).
Features of this kit include:
· 2 Reconnaissance biplane floatplanes and 3 Type 0 3-seat floatplanes are included
· The aircraft come fully painted, with even the canopy frames on the aircraft intricately painted
· Additional waterslide decals permit the identifying of the aircraft to specific ships, for example:
o Battleships YAMATO, NAGATO, KONGO, HARUNA
o Cruisers ATAGO, TAKAO, MAYA, CHOKAI, ABUKUMA
o Seaplane tenders KAMIKAWA, KIMIKAWA, AIKOKU MARU
· Aircraft are packed very carefully in plastic blister display pack which protects the aircraft models
