Premium Postmark Series: 1862 Wurttemberg 6Kr. Green. "Kirchheim U Tech". Quite a rare Postmark.

This is from Württemberg’s 1862 Coat of Arms definitive series (the transition printing with new perforations and colours before the 1863 refinements).

• Design: Royal coat of arms (crowned shield with supporters) on a wavy-line security background. “FREIMARKE” at top, “6 KREUZER” vertically on sides and at bottom. Typographed on white paper.
• Perforation: Perf 10 (standard for the 1862 printings).
• Colour: Green / yellow-green (the standard shade for the 6kr rate in this series).

The postmark – Kirchheim unter Teck CDS:

This is a circular date stamp (CDS) from "Kirchheim unter Teck" (abbreviated on cancels as “KIRCHHEIM U TECH” or similar).

It’s the same historic town as the earlier 1863 18kr orange (which had a similar “Kirchheim” strike). Württemberg town cancels from the 1860s are very collectible — the strike shows the town name in the outer ring with a readable date in the centre (day.month.year format). These named cancels prove genuine local usage and add nice provenance.
