Item up for bid is an amazing and highly desirable vintage 70's portable manual typewriter made in England by Smith Corona called the Super G. This piece features a retro futuristic mod design by renowned Italian automotive design firm Carrozzeria Ghia and bears a marking on the front edge of the cover that reads " Design by Ghia" with the Ghia emblem. This piece is constructed of a blue plastic casing with extendable black plastic handle, keys and components. Plastic all exhibits surface marks, scuffs and patina consistent with age and use. Plastic shows a few areas of old paint residue on the exterior surfaces. Plastic shows no chips, cracks or breaks. Interior components are constructed of steel which shows soiling and patina and would benefit from a detail cleaning and polish. Interior of the machine shows loose soiling and debris and would benefit from a detail cleaning.

Item was tested and all strike bars struck and returned as intended. Carriage moved in conjunction with keys strike as well as manually when tested. We loaded paper into the machine and tested the type and it left markings on the paper with some appearing light so while the machine did work it will likely need a new ribbon to function at it's full capability. Machine ( with the cover on and handle pushed in ) measures 13-1/4" front to back by 12-1/4" across the widest point by 4" from highest to lowest point.
