Description: Striking and highly detailed fine unusual 1759 George Child's copper engraved city views, on one sheet, of Kochi, to the upper side, and Diu, to the lower side, India. Both maps shows the colonial urban layout and defensive fortifications, rivers, forts, harbours and surrounding landscape.

Dimension: Paper size approx.: cm 23,2 x 37,8

Condition: Very strong and dark impression on good paper. Paper with chains and wirmark. Map uncolored. Wide margins. Small foxing and browning. Map folded. Conditions are as you can see in the images. 

Mapmaker:George Child was a British engraver active in London during the mid-q8th century, with his documented works primarily concentrated betweem 1740 and 1760. .
