CONDITION:

Used antique condition with age-related wear and losses. There is surface wear, scratches, scuffs, darkening, small chips and areas of worn or missing veneer consistent with age and use. The blue velvet lining is worn and faded in places. The lock is present but no key is included. The lock-side writing board is detached from the middle section, but it can be locked in place using the small catch at the top left. DESCRIPTION:

A lovely antique Victorian writing slope / stationery box, veneered in burr wood and decorated with attractive mother of pearl diamond inlay to the lid and front.

The box opens to reveal a fitted interior with blue velvet lining and compartments for writing accessories. A glass inkwell is present in the interior. It has a charming aged appearance and would make a wonderful collector’s piece, decorative display item, or restoration project.

This is a genuine antique piece with the kind of wear and character expected from an item of this age. It remains very attractive and displays well.
