Offering a beautifully preserved vintage Mid-century (c. 1958–1965) genuine mahogany mink capelet by James Beun Fur Co. of Washington, D.C., a respected American furrier known for exceptional craftsmanship.
Richly matched mahogany mink pelts create a luxurious natural luster, while the elegant open-front silhouette drapes beautifully over the shoulders. The interior features the original woven James Beun label along with an embroidered owner's name, adding to the history and character of this remarkable piece, with a luxurious silk or satin lining.
Whether worn for formal occasions, displayed as part of a vintage collection, or treasured as an heirloom garment, this capelet embodies timeless mid-century elegance.
Beautiful vintage condition. The mink remains exceptionally soft, supple, and full with a beautiful natural sheen. There is minor fur thinning and hide separation along the interior under-collar seam where the fur meets the lining (see final photo). This area is not visible when worn and does not detract from the overall beauty or presentation of the piece. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
