I am pleased to offer a fantastic original postcard showing a stern view of the White Star Liner Adriatic at Southampton. Scarce view, pre maiden voyage and from the time of Captain Smith. Publisher EWS which I believe to be renowned Southampton photographer Willsteed. Exceptional clarity with great dockside context. Note she is dressed with bunting identifying this to be just before her first departure when she was open to the public. One of the White Star Line's longest serving and hugely popular vessels. The Willsteed brothers were Southampton photographers who produced exceptional pictures of topography and transport in Hampshire up until the First World War. Tragically, one of the brothers was killed in the conflict. They took one beautiful photo of Titanic in dock showing her from a water side vantage point with coaling barges alongside.
