Original LNER (London & North Eastern Railway) Fireman Fire Brigade enamel identification badge.
A genuine railway issue badge dating from the LNER era (1923–1948). It bears the words “L.N.E.R. FIREMAN FIRE BRIGADE” in red lettering on a white enamel face.
Railway companies operated their own fire brigades to protect stations, locomotive sheds, workshops, goods depots and warehouses. This is an increasingly scarce survivor from that period.
Constructed from heavy steel with vitreous enamel to the front. The reverse is plain steel. The badge features slotted mounting holes at each end and displays honest service wear, scratches, enamel loss and edge corrosion consistent with age and use.
A superb piece for collectors of LNER, railwayana, fire brigade memorabilia, transport history or vintage enamel signs.
Condition: Original vintage item showing age-related wear, scratches, edge rust and enamel loss. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
