About the Artist: Milton Berwin was a prominent Jewish-American artist whose career spanned over 70 years. A WWII veteran who served in Germany and France, his work was deeply shaped by his experiences during the war and his need to "bear witness" to the human condition. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design (1949), Berwin was a staple of the New York art scene and continued to create expressive, soulful works into his 90s.
