It functions primarily as a non-TTL (Through-The-Lens) adapter, allowing the use of standard, automatic, or manual flashes.

The adapter features a rotating lock mechanism that securely attaches it to the rewind knob of the camera.

It is similar in function to the Nikon AS-4 hot shoe coupler
