The significance of this antique Egyptian obelisk with crocodiles is that many ancient Egyptians worshipped crocodiles, building temples for the crocodile God, Sobek.
The crocodiles in the temples were adorned with jewels and given special food and wine. They were often mummified after death. The areas of Egypt that worshipped Sobek were Faiyum Oasis
and Kom Ombo.

The marble obelisk can be detached from the base . It measures 9 inches alone but the entire sculpture measures 25.5 inches tall and base is 8.5 squared.
