This is a fully functional Heathkit PS-4 400VDC 125mA power supply. I replaced all of the capacitors. It has its original diodes and original Daystrom (Japan) tubes. All tbes test at or near NEW (95% or above). This linear PSU is very useful for the non-professional who needs a variable supply that exceeds the usual 30VDC maximum. Use it for checking high voltage capacitors for leakage with your milliammeter and for high voltage projects.
This is perfect for the Heathkit collector or someone looking who is creating a 1960s electronics shop. Switches and pots are smooth. Meters are accurate and agree with my Fluke 45.
The PS-4 is the same design as the later IP-32 and IP-17 Power Supply. Same tube complement, different diodes. The main difference is the older styling of the PS-4. It is the same footprint, just taller. The ripple is around 5mVDC; 1/2 that specified by Heathkit for a new IP-17 unit! A perfect answer to avoiding the noise created by modern switch mode power supplies.
See the pics, especially the results of the tube tests, meter accuracy and ripple. Of course, I had to replace all the caps. The ECs were 65 years old and the film caps were all leaky. I will include the original caps (although what you will do with them is beyond me) and a schematic.
I believe I set a fair price given the value. If you disagree, send me an offer. It is only business.
I accept returns!! I have sold a number of pieces of test equipment from Kikusui scopes and Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer, to Eico RF generators. All with this guarantee. NONE ever come back.
