Antique Victorian Milners Deed Box / Strong Box – WM. Briggs LL.D. 1861
Original Victorian metal deed box manufactured by the renowned Milners Safe Company, one of Britain's most respected makers of safes and document security boxes during the 19th century.
The box is personalised to its original owner and retains the painted inscription:
WM. BRIGGS LL.D. 1861
The lid still displays the original initials "W.B." and the original MILNERS stamped carrying handle. Inside, the box retains the original manufacturer's plaque marked:
"Manufactured by Milners' Safe Co. Ltd."
Approximate dimensions: 46cm x 31cm x 20cm
Condition:
Good antique condition for its age. The box shows expected wear, paint loss, surface rust, scratches and signs of over 160 years of use. Original decorative detailing and inscriptions remain visible. The interior manufacturer's plaque is still present.
No key is included.
