First edition of this title which formed part of the Fairy Books series. Pages are xvii, [1], 379.  In publisher's gilt decorated cloth binding, all edges gilt, black endpapers. Externally minor wear only, some fraying to top of spine.  Inside, very clean and binding sound.  From the library of the late Dr Alan Gauld, an authority on Lang's work in the field of psychical research and a collector of Lang books, with his sticker to the endpapers.
