Heroes Convention Exclusive Print Crimson Plague
In June 1997, the late-great George Perez published a comic which he wrote, penciled and inked entitled Crimson Plague. Tom Smith was the colorist on the title. It only ran 2 issues without completing the story, but the art and story were intriguing and are must haves for collectors of George Perez art. The story is about a woman named DiNA Simmons, aka, Crimson Plague, who apparently has blood, that when exposed to air, kills! In fact she’s says in the book; “I Bleed … You Die!” It is also about another woman, Shannon Lower, who is some sort of commandeer, or pilot, of some sort of a spacecraft. In issue number two, it is revealed that apparently DiNA has no memory and is “childlike” and “simple” and the doctors/scientists are working with her to find out what happened on Manna Works # 3, but she has given them the slip and that’s where issue one began somehow. In the meantime, we discover that Shannon Lower has also survived and may be set to be brought to trial for the deaths of all her crew members
For sale here is the exclusive Heroes Con Limited Poster given to attendees of the 1997 Heroes Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina when they made a donation to the Charlotte Fire Department. This event was occurring to introduce issue one of George's comic. The print is 11 x 17 inches, on glossy white paper and pictures Crimson Plague, the heroin of the story. I made a contribution to George's charity and he gave me this beautiful print, and George and Tom signed it for me.
The poster has been protected and stored flat in a safe environment for the last 30 years. It is in excellent condition without any tears, bends or blemishes. As I received it directly from George, I therefore have rated it "new." But don’t trust me on condition or grade as I am a collector, not a retailer or grader. Look at the scans and make your own judgment. If you would like further images, please let me know. What you see is what you get.
