Kingdom of Württemberg 1865 1 Kreuzer green – Rouletted variety with Stuttgart postmark dated 29 June 1865

This is the rouletted version of the 1kr green from the final Coat of Arms definitive series.

Key Details:

• Design: Royal coat of arms on wavy-line background, “FREIMARKE” top, “1 KREUZER” on sides and bottom.
• Key feature: Line rouletted (not perforated with holes) — this is the scarcer 1865 printing variant before the standard perf 10 became common.
• Colour: Green (standard middle/yellow-green shade).

The Postmark – Stuttgart CDS, 29 June 1865

The cancel is a clear circular date stamp (CDS) from Stuttgart (the capital of Württemberg).

• Outer ring: STUTTGART (fully visible)
• Centre: Date 29 6 65 = 29 June 1865 (day.month.year format — very early use of this stamp issue)

Stuttgart cancels are the most common on this series, but a clear dated example from the first year of issue (1865) is desirable.
