This vintage Mattel Jack-in-the-box is in very good cosmetic condition.  The music plays, but is a bit "tinny" and warped sounding.  You can make out the tune.  I have tested a few times and occasionally it did stop, but start up again.  The clown has some red missing from his nose and needs a little stitching to keep his clothes on. It pops up right on queue.  The latch did prove a bit tricky at first, but I have since learned to give it a little extra turn and it's been working consistently for me.

Overall, this wonderful vintage toy has a few issues, but for being 65 years old, is a very nice vintage piece -- just not for daily child's play.
