Weltron created a line of electronics that revolutionized personal audio and re-defined cool. The began in 1969 with the Weltron 2001 8-track player, followed by the Weltron 2004 cassette player, the 2010 8-track, and the final model the XX-10 “Space Sound Shuttle”. Chromium restores these works of art, and our technicians check the electronics, add new power supply for Bluetooth, dial lights and accessories, we replace antennas, battery boxes and whiten the cases when necessary.

White restoring an XX-10 we decided to replace the cracked dome, and built a mandrel and produced the “Chromium Dome” out of arcrylic. For the XX-10 the dome has to be customized with tabs like the original XX-10 dome, but on all the other Weltron spaceballs, 2001, 2004, 2010 the dome friction fits on the faceplate ring, and acts as a dust cover for the unit.

We will be offering a limited number of domes retail, and use the rest for our own restorations. They are available in Smoke and Clear and we will provide a listing for each!
