Attractive vintage wooden bowl decorated with pokerwork / pyrography-style decoration, featuring birds, fruit, berries and leaves against a dark stippled ground. Most likely from around 1920-1940.
The bowl has a rich dark finish with warm orange, red and brown colouring, giving it a strong Arts & Crafts / folk art decorative look. The decoration continues around the outside and into the inner rim, with a plain darker centre to the bowl.
Approx. 25.5 cm diameter.
Condition is good decorative vintage condition overall, with age-related wear, rubbing, scratches, small marks and wear to the finish as shown. There is a natural flaw/line in the wood to the base, visible in the photographs; it appears to be within the grain and does not go through to the inside of the bowl.
A characterful wooden bowl with strong Arts & Crafts, folk art and country house appeal.
