Size:  35.5 cm (14 inches) square, external height 6.5 cm.

Condition: Excellent condition, no chips cracks or restoration.  There is a small light patch in one corner which is not damage, probably a thumb mark, and it is glazed.

This is a lovely and slightly unusual example of David Frith's work. The dish is slab built and chunky in design, with four very nice Japanese style l-shaped feet. The underside is textured and finished with an ash glaze, the upper side is partly plain with only a thin applied glazes and the decoration is from thick tenmoku and ash glazes dribbled across the width of the dish.
