For sale a Sir Terry Frost RA 'signed' limited edition tie from the UNICEF Culturalties Collection. 77 internationally renowned artists including Terry Frost designed limited edition neck ties in the late 1990s. The aim was to raise $1,000,000 for Unicef's clean water initiative. Only 300 of each design were produced. The other collaborative artists included Sir Peter Blake, Louise Bourgeois and Jeff Koons.
The ties were manufactured by the Italian luxury firm Ratti and were made from a cotton/silk mix.
This tie is numbered 134/300. The Terry Frost tie is a fantastic item and so typical of his round abstract works. There is no doubt that this is one of the best of the Unicef Culturalties.
The tie has Terry's stitched signature to the reverse. Sadly Terry died in 2003.
The tie comes in its individual acrylic presentation box and measures approximately 45cm by 15.5cm by 4.5cm deep with its original Certificate Of Authenticity. The box has a hole in the reverse to allow it to be displayed, rather than being worn, if you wish. The display box also has an orange cardboard outer sleeve.
The tie is NEW old stock. The tie has never ben worn and was only taken out of its case to photograph. It is a very rare item - especially in this condition. It is very fairly priced. So it is first come first served!
