❓ Is this Extron SW4 VGA ARS compatible with my PC or Mac?
Yes. The SW4 VGA ARS VGA selector is compatible with all computers with a standard VGA output (PC, Mac, workstations), as well as with component HDTV sources. Its 350 MHz bandwidth allows it to losslessly manage resolutions ranging from VGA to QXGA (2560×2048) and 1080p HDTV standards.
❓ How does Extron SW VGA ARS automatic switching work?
The Extron VGA switcher automatically detects active sources on each input. In auto-switching mode, it switches to the highest numbered input with an active VGA signal. This mode is ideal for presentation rooms where several speakers follow one another, without having to manipulate the selector manually.
❓ Can this VGA switch be controlled via a control system (AMX, Crestron, etc.)?
Absolutely. The SW4 VGA ARS has an RS-232 port allowing full integration with control systems from AMX, Crestron, Extron or any other compatible controller. It also supports dry contact (relay) control and IR infrared remote control (optional IR 102 kit). These options make this VGA audio switcher professional equipment perfectly suited to integrated AV installations.
❓ Is stereo audio switched well at the same time as VGA video?
Yes, each VGA input is associated with a stereo audio input on a 3.5mm jack. Stereo audio switching is done simultaneously with video. At the output, the audio signal is available on a screw terminal block and can be supplied in balanced (balanced) or unbalanced mode, which eliminates parasitic noise over long cabling distances.
