For your consideration is this guaranteed original gelatin silver black and white photograph dated January 14th, 1931 and taken in Columbus Ohio.
America at this time was in the throes of the Great Depression after the disastrous stock market crash of 1929.
This is quite a unique image for a couple reasons. There are 6 African American men and 18 Caucasian men. There are all geared up in heavy duty work clothes, and a few tools and lunch bags can be seen in their hands.
The man at the bottom center is being embraced by the Caucasian man next to him. Unusual, considering the era and time this was taken.
Simply an outstanding large format and original type
1 photograph printed shortly after it was taken. The photo measures 17” by 7” not including the mount. There is tape on the back as shown.
A very rare chance to own an important photograph of the men working through the Great Depression, trying to make ends meet and feed their families.
