Up for sale is a gorgeous, authentic pair of late Victorian / early Edwardian Neoclassical Corinthian column candlesticks, crafted by the renowned silversmiths William Hutton & Sons of Sheffield, England.
​Both candlesticks stand an impressive 11 inches tall and feature heavily detailed, tiered square bases with classical leaf borders and classic ribbed column pillars.
​Condition Details & Patina:
Material & Maker Marks: Stamped on the underside with the distinct William Hutton & Sons "WH & S" maker's mark and their traditional pseudo-hallmarks (including the crown symbol).
​Patina / Wear: These pieces feature a beautiful, authentic "Sheffield plate" look with distinct copper bleeding through the silver plating on the high-contact areas, ridges, and bases. This warm, dual-tone copper and silver look is highly sought after by collectors of antique plated ware.
Structural Note: One candlestick includes its square top sconce/removable bobeche, while the other does not (as shown in the photographs).
