This is a snare drum from the domestic manufacturing era of the 1980s. It features the "Parallel Wing Action" strainer for full-surface contact, and the birch shell provides a thick, fat low-to-mid range with added tightness.
The hoop on the batter side has been replaced with a Gretsch (USA-made) hoop, resulting in a sound with clear attack.
Although it is an older item, it shows minimal signs of use and is still in great condition for use. This is a rare Japanese vintage piece!
