The Metrohm 874 Oven Sample Processor paired with the 851 Titrando forms a high-performance automated system for coulometric Karl Fischer water content determination. The 874 handles automatic thermal sample preparation — heating sealed vials and sweeping released moisture via a carrier gas directly into the 851 Titrando's coulometric cell — making it especially suited to materials that only release moisture at elevated temperatures, sparingly soluble samples, or those that react with conventional KF reagent. The 851 Titrando is a dedicated coulometric KF instrument covering a recommended measuring range of 10 µg to 200 mg absolute water, compatible with Metrohm's tiamo and OMNIS software platforms and designed to support GMP/GLP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
