D. Morgan
Sea Shell Study
Watercolor on Paper
11" x 22"
Signed lower center

This elegant coastal still life by Doris Morgan (known professionally as D. Morgan) features a meticulous study of three sea shells. Rendered in a soft, naturalistic palette of ochre, mauve, and earthy browns, the work showcases the artist's characteristic delicate brushwork and attention to organic form. Morgan is widely recognized for her serene, watercolor-style depictions of nature and coastal life, which became prominent in the late 20th century.

• Professionally matted with a sage green and cream double-matting sequence
• Housed in a minimalist light wood frame that complements the coastal aesthetic
• Includes pre-installed sawtooth hanging hardware on the reverse for immediate display
• Signature "D. Morgan" is clearly legible in the lower center of the composition

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The artwork surface appears clean and well-preserved behind glass with no visible foxing or fading. The light wood frame shows only minor shelf wear consistent with age. Note that the protective paper backing on the reverse has some significant tears and lifting, though this does not affect the structural integrity of the frame or the artwork's display quality.
