This unique Antique Primitive Hand Forged Iron Adjustable Textile Cord Winding Tool is most probably produced by a blacksmith in a rural workshop. Likely late 1800s to early 1900s.
The winding tool is made of heavy forged iron hardware, adjustable sliding rod assembly, fold-flat support braces, thick worn wooden base from long tabletop use, and wide extending arms for spreading or guiding material.
Suitable for yarn handling, cord winding, ribbon or strap tensioning, or some type of small shop jig.
