It is preety normal, for men's wwatches to be over 38mm today, but it was extremely uncommon back in the late 40's, when this watch was made.  It was considered super jumbo, and not many this size, were worn.

This is a guaranteed Omega, Swiss made, in the original 18k solid yellow gold case, and running strongly, guaranteed.  It is a movement model 283, one of the largest Omega movements, for the time period.  You can tell the age, from the little gold appendages, that go inside the lug bars.  You need the older open end hollow lug pins, for the band.  Definitely 1940's style.

The serial number has been blotted out, for some reason, but it is original, to the Swiss hallmark solid gold case.  The case is 38mm without the crown, and the space in between the lugs is 20mm.  There  are a few really small dings on the back, but, honestly, you have to turn the watch to get a reflection, to see them.  The crown is steel colored, so maybe a replacement, or the plating has jut worn off.  After all, its over 70 years old.  It has been in my safe for the last 25 years, and I have never worn it.

I do not polish any silver items, as I have found that the majority of buyers prefer the original patina, left intact.

I will always combine shipping on purchases of multiple items.

Please note that any item that is altered in any way after purchase, whether buy the buyer or by the seller, it can not be returned under any circumstances. This means that I you shorten a bracelet, or resize a ring, I Will not take it back. Please be sure you want what you have bought, before you change it in any way.
