Thank you very much for visiting my listing! Up for sale is a legendary piece of Japanese drumming history: the Pearl B-714D-DC, the successor to the famous Jupiter series. This model features a Chrome Over Brass (COB) shell and robust Die-Cast Hoops (DC), delivering a powerful yet musical vintage tone.
[Condition & Important Notice] ⚠️
Status: Pre-owned vintage item. While the exterior cosmetics are in excellent, clean condition, there is a specific functional issue regarding the strainer system.
The Issue: Due to the tension of the strainer switch over time, the shell near the guide parts has slightly recessed (see Photo 7).
Snappy Compatibility: Because of this slight recession, the space shown in Photo 6 has narrowed. A standard Pearl extended-wire (40cm) snappy will interfere with the guide part screws (see Photo 8).
Workaround: You will need a snappy wire shorter than the standard 40cm extended version (internal-touch type recommended).
Adjustment: Additionally, because the guide part area is slightly recessed, the two adjustment screws (see Photo 8) may need careful balancing to ensure the snappy sits evenly against the head.
Integrity: Despite these mechanical quirks common to this era's soft brass design, the drum remains beautiful and produces a fantastic sound once set up. Sold AS-IS.
