I found this at an estate sale, and I confirmed the tool set because of the name in the World War II dress blues hat that I have in my store. The name is John Henry PROKOPOWICZ. He was an expert in the Soviet military affairs. He was a commander of the Russian Institute. Which included studying their medical technology for the US Army. This basically is like a metal cage around a limb to either lengthen or bone regrowth. He studied the metallurgy and engineering of these solid rods and specialized bolts that helped US experts to understand the technology behind the Soviet medical propaganda. Also, the instruments are wrapped in a wax paper to preserve the tools with some kind of lubricant underneath.

Check to see if his hat is still in my store!
