RARE ANTIQUE VINTAGE Joseph Hoffman MOSER 4 TIER, CLEAR OCTAGONAL PANEL PRISM FACETED CUT VASE C1930. 10”
I have several other listings for Hoffmann Moser vases on separate listings.
This listing is for a very beautiful, DEEPLY PANEL CUT PRISM FACETTED, CLEAR GLASS VASE, increasingly rare to find, CLEAR CRYSTAL (rarer to find than the Smoke glass colour it seems) antique Moser Hoffman Karlovy Vary, crystal Art Deco vase, in what looks like unused condition, bar for display purposes. There is no inside staining or hard water in all the crevices of the steps of the intricate step and prism facet panel cutting.
The ART DECO almost antique vase has a typical design that is unmistakable for the famous Moser brand. The vase is made of solid, HEAVY, thick-walled clear glass of high quality. The surface is divided into FOUR blocks, which are decorated with facets. The year of production dates back to the 1920’s and 1930s, but the vase still looks like new. The design by the glass artist and architect, Josef Hoffmann and his vision were realized by the glassworks in Karlovy Vary. (See research notes below. It is not difficult to see that an Architect was involved with this very complex and sculptural shaped vase)
This facet cut Block Crystal Vase geometric designed by Josef Hoffman each one handmade and unique with its ascending, OCTAGONAL SIDED pattern with four graduated, deeply cut steps is a vase of Modernist design (Austrian, 1870-1956) for Moser, Czechoslovakia ca. early 20th century.
The glass is CLEAR CRYSTAL. This heavily thick cut, octagonal, faceted design allows for much light play from top to bottom. It’s a timeless design which mixes well with any decor—from classic formal, to Danish/MCM, to farmhouse.
Perfect for Decorators, a mantle, console or tabletop. Great to for the collector or to give as a gift.
Made in Czechoslovakia circa 1920's 1930's

RESEARCH NOTES:
JOSEF HOFFMANN
One of the founders of Vienna Secession
ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER
Austrian architect and designer Josef Hoffmann (1870–1956) was one of the founders of Vienna Secession. One of his most famous architectural achievements is the Stoclet Palace in Brussels, widely regarded as a groundbreaking example of modern architecture. In 1903, he co-founded the Wiener Werkstätte – a Viennese avant-garde art association. He also employed his creativity in household glassware, creating mainstay collections for the Wiener Werkstätte and the Viennese company Lobmeyr. At the time, the supplier and implementer of Hoffmann's unique designs for both of these organisations was none other than Moser glassworks. Hoffmann’s original vases are displayed in the Glass Museum in Passau, Germany.
