1988 Ford Escort Rs Turbo RESTORATION PROJECT I have owned this car for 15 years. It was bought off Ebay and driven home in 2011 with all the intentions of getting it on the road. I was only 17 at the time, however it has stood ever since. The rust has got the better of it now and i'll never do anything with it. It is very rusty and will need lots of welding or re-shelled. Its 99% complete with very little missing. Theres no seat runners, centre caps or fuel cap key. I think everything else is there.
104k miles. Lots of paperwork with it including v5 in my name, some old mots back to 2000 no mileage discrepancies. Old tax discs and recipts for various parts over the years. An old autotrader advert of the car described as one of the best available anywhere! That was however many years ago! HPI CLEAR checked today, can forward the email if requested.
Bodywork is quite poor, there is rust in places such as wings, quarters, roof, and especially underneath the car. The bonnet, doors and boot lid would go again although the boot hinges are broken they'll repair. Bumpers and body kit look ok (90spec) also included is the correct 80s spec front bumper. The sunroof has a small amount of movement but is stiff, i dont want to force it but it may free off.
90 spec interior which unfortunately the dog got in one day and ripped the front seats. they could be repaired, there are often individual sections of seat available on ebay as ive been looking. Good dashboard no holes. Roof lining is torn.
Engine hasn't ran since it was parked up in 2011. Although it ran fine back then, its stood so long I wouldn't even attempt to start it now. It does turn over by hand. LSD gearbox was fine when last driven.
Modifications. I was told when I bought it it has an uprated air research turbo, and actuator. It has adjustable boost. Braided fuel and brake lines. Silicone hoses boost and water. Kent cvh 31 camshaft (£500+ on ebay for the cam, £740 from burton power for the full kit with springs and followers). Uprated clutch with recipt. Full stainless exhaust with a large roll tip. K&N. Koni adjustable suspension all round.
