This is a rare 1941 vintage "Tony Sarg's Surprise Book" published by B.F. Jay & Company.

Created by renowned puppeteer and illustrator Anthony Frederick "Tony" Sarg (1880–1942), a renowned illustrator and puppeteer in collaboration with publisher B.F. Jay, this was an innovative mechanical novelty book designed to engage a child's five senses:

• Look: Features colorful illustrations and a volvelle (turning wheel) that shows "The Cow Jumping Over the Moon".
• Listen: Includes nursery rhymes to be read aloud.
• Smell: Originally contained actual aromas embedded in certain pages.
• Taste: Some editions originally included pockets for treats like a "plum" (candy) or a penny.
• Feel: Features tactile elements, such as fuzzy "wool" material on a black sheep illustration.

Condition: The book is bound with red spirals and a ribbon tie. There is a page that has separated from ribbon. Otherwise good vintage condition. See photos for greater details.
