Vintage or antique miniature bisque doll from Japan with jointed arms. Its wavy hair is painted blonde, and its features are also painted. JAPAN is engraved on the back of the doll. The doll is in excellent condition for its age, with sharp features not worn down. The jointed arms, attached to the body by wires, are intact. There are no added markings, nicks, or scratches. My research indicates these dolls were made in the early 1900s or 1920s-1930s. The doll is in a small plastic container as shown in the photo, which was probably added by my mother.
The doll is from my mother LaVerne Hammond's collection of dolls. Her notecard indicates "old" but she didn't say how she acquired it.
You can find additional dolls posted under my name from my mother's collection. If you find other dolls you want to purchase, I will combine shipping by recalculating the shipping price after purchase and sending you the refund for the difference through eBay. If the dolls fit in one box and the total weight is under a pound, the price for shipping would most likely be the same as one doll under a pound. If the dolls are over one pound, the price for shipping will be higher but not as high if they were shipped separately.
