What is a “reasonable distance” & “proper ammo” to shoot Steel Targets?

We strongly discourage shooting any steel target at any distance less than 15 yards.

NO Steel Target is “bullet-proof”, the shooter must adjust his distance and bullet type after a few hits on target, most pistol rounds will not leave a “pit” from 15 yards on our targets while a centerfire rifle at less than 100 yards, might. 

For firearms shooting a bullet under 2000 fps we recommend starting at 100 yards, for 2000-2800 fps starting at 150 yards and bullets over 2800 fps at least 200 yards and adjust to a distance reasonable to the bullet type and firearm used.

Always check your steel target for damage or large pits and adjust shooting habits accordingly.

NO SHOTGUN SLUGS---NO XM-193 AMMO---- NO STEEL CORE BULLETS-

ANYTHING LARGER THAN A .44 MAG or OVER 3200 fps is NOT RECOMMENDED.

AR500 is encouraged for all Centerfire rounds.
