Up for auction is a Vintage 1915 Tin Friction Ford Model-T Car.
This is a tin friction motor toy, made in Japan in the 1950's or early '60's of a 1915 Ford Model T automobile.
The front radiator plate reads: "Ford" and the bottom of the car has the words "Ford 1915" and " Sign of Quality, Made in Japan." The friction motor still works and has a little "slapper" that makes a motor sound with each complete revolution.
Size: The car is about 7 1/4 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches high.
Condition: Very Good. The photographs I've provided should show the condition of this toy, which I think is very good. However, the camera flash accentuates the rougher surface of the roof of the car and makes it look much worse than it actually is. The steering wheel, headlights and side lights are all present, and the wheels are in good shape. These are the items that are usually missing or broken on toys of this era. The toy has been in a box in storage for decades and could stand to be cleaned up, but I leave the detail work to the next owner.
