Presenting our 2003 Aston Martin Zagato DB AR1 finished in Tungsten Silver over Claret leather interior.
Looking to revive the Aston Martin brand, Ford collaborated with the legendary Italian coachbuilder Zagato in 2002 to create a limited-production grand touring car. Evoking the classic Zagato-bodied DB4 GT and V8 Vantage of the 60s and 80s, the DB American Roadster 1, debuted in 2003 with an exclusive production run of just 99 examples in total. It carries an upgraded “GT” version of the 6.0L Vanquish V12 producing 435 HP and comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential as standard.
Typically referred to by enthusiasts as “the bridge” car. Representing a transitional moment between the Ford-era Aston Martins (like the DB7) and the more modern Gaydon-built era that followed, making it historically significant beyond just its looks. Unique features of the AR1 include a large slatted front grille, integrated fog lights, accentuated rear fenders, red brake calipers, circular taillights, Zagato badging, and double hump fairings sculpted into the tail section. The AR1 is constructed from steel with the hood, front and rear fenders, doors and rear deck paneling in aluminum to save weight.
This particular example, #77 of 99, was sold new at Bauer Jaguar of Santa Ana, CA. Currently displaying 4,300 miles, this example has been routinely serviced with a service log dating back to 2005.
Sale includes Two keys, Service Records, Clean Carfax, Numbered Toy Car Diecast, Numbered Aston Martin Car Cover, Service Manual, Umbrellas and Tools.
