These Ghana white heart glass beads are a bright blue. The name white heart beads refer to their opaque white glass inside and the outside is a milky translucent colored glass. This 2-layered process of making white hearts began in 1800s in Venice starting with ancient beads known as Cornaline D' Aleppo. This unique way of making these white inside with translucent color on the outside produces a much brighter color that appears translucent and glowing. These vintage beads found in Ghana were originally made in early 1900s in Czech Republic and traded in Africa.

Our business is rooted in our love of hand craftsmanship, history, and authenticity. We work carefully to source items that are uniquely hand-made as well as hard to find vintage items from remote areas in Africa. Sourced from materials (such as recycled glass and metal) that use low impact, sustainable and ethical processes, we employ artisans and craftspeople in a place rich with bead making history.
