Stunningly rare Ancient Afghani Roman Glass beads in mixed blue and green colors. What makes this strand exceptional is the level of selection involved. Only the most well-preserved fragments were chose, beads with the richest blue and green tones and beautiful natural patina. Only the finest were carefully pulled aside and gathered into one collectors piece. This is a rare, highly curated strand that reflects the beauty of the original ancient glass.
These beads are handcrafted in Afghanistan from authentic ancient Roman glass fragments. The original glass once formed vessels such as perfume bottles, water jugs, plates, and cups dating back. Remnants of these vessels have been salvaged and hand-carved into beads. Over time, remnants of these vessels were unearthed along historic trade routes and thoughtfully reclaimed by skilled artisans, who hand-carve and polish them into beautiful beads.

Our business is rooted in our love of hand craftsmanship, history, and authenticity. We work carefully to source items that are uniquely hand-made as well as hard to find vintage items from remote areas in Africa. Sourced from materials (such as recycled glass and metal) that use low impact, sustainable and ethical processes, we employ artisans and craftspeople in a place rich with bead making history.
