Original 1937 Norwich & Worcester Railroad Company stock certificate issued to Adams & Peck, a well-known New York brokerage firm.

This attractive engraved certificate represents one of the historic railroads of New England, connecting Worcester, Massachusetts and Norwich, Connecticut—a key 19th-century transportation corridor linking inland manufacturing centers with coastal shipping routes. Norwich and Worcester Railroad

The railroad was chartered in 1832–1833 and merged in 1836 to build a rail line between Norwich, CT and Worcester, MA. The line opened fully in 1840, becoming an important freight and passenger route serving the industrial Quinebaug and French River valleys. The company later became part of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad system, one of the dominant railroads in New England. The railroad continued as a corporate entity into the 20th century and its historic line is still used today by freight operators.

Condition: I am not a professional and this comes from my father’s massive collection of antique stocks and bonds. Given its age, it shows age related toning, foxing, edge wear/folds/stains, pencil marks, cancellation marks but it is a nice piece of history. Please see photos and ask questions.

This authentic pre-WWII railroad stock certificate is:

• Excellent piece of New England railroad history

• Ideal for scripophily collectors, railroad enthusiasts, or display

• Attractive engraved design typical of early 20th-century securities

• Connection to historic northeastern rail systems

I will combine shipping so please see my other listings or follow along as I continue to add. Thank you.
