The rod has been sat in my fathers wardrobe for the last 20 years.....apparently he purchased it as a 'spare' and unfortunantly, I didn't know it existed 🤣🤣.

In my opinion the Loomis GLX 10ft #8 (or 10ft #7) is still the best 'all round' Reservoir rod ever made !!
Yes - that's a bold clain but even when compared to todays modern rods..ie Sage R8, Helios 4, Loop 7x etc... I still believe the GLX to be better.
Distance work, Deep work, Lures, Nymphs, Dries, Bank or Boat this rod does everything not just well, but extremely well, its a true genuine all rounder.
Action wise compared to todays rods I'd still describe it as ' Fast' actioned.
Best paired with #8 lines as its true to weight !
One of Loomis’s most famous and sought after rods of all time, and for good reason! -This is one of the rods that put Garry Loomis on everybody’s radar (along with his IMX range) and help make Loomis who they are or rather were as the Loomis brand was purchased by Shimano.
Seriously don’t be put off by the fact its an 'old' rod. The GLX range was way ahead of its time and the action is absolutely incredible even by todays standards.
A very rare chance to own a genuine piece of History, these rods don't come up for sale often and never in this condition.
I'm only selling as I already have 2 GLX's and 4 GLX-D's so doubt if I'll ever need it. (For info - The GLX-D range is a touch stiffer than the GLX range and basically an out and out lure,distance rod)
I'd prefer collection from Thrapston, Grafham, Pitsford if possible.
