Description
Pre-owned 1939 National D-8 Princess Steel!
This beautiful Art Deco console steel guitar was inspired by Letritia Kandle, a female player of the time.
In 2019, a copy of this model, owned by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, was auctioned at Christie's and sold for $52,500. The original
8-string pickup, which had a cobalt magnet and had become demagnetized over time, has been replaced with an alnico pickup manufactured by Stoneage, a former company in Aichi Prefecture. The tuning machines, which had worn out, have been replaced with new Weverly-type machines, and the nut and saddles have been replaced with brass. This lap steel guitar is ready for immediate use!
Included: Hard case, legs, original tuning machines.
Condition:
There are some scratches and rust on the metal parts, but it's in excellent condition considering its age!
