This listing features a nice copy of the ninth edition, 1937, of Machinery's Handbook, a reference book of machine design for the mechanical engineer and/or draftsman. it contains 1592 pages of reference material, text, diagrams, charts, drawings, photos, and a comprehensive index. The pages are gilt-edged, it has thumb-tabs, and the book is quite heavy, due to the number of pages. This is a classic and amazing reference book with a huge amount of material and information.
This Handbook was acquired from the estate of Mr. Ludwig Guthmann, who received the book by mail in 1943 from the publisher, Industrial Press in New York City. At the time, Mr Guthmann lived in South Africa. See the photo of the mailing. Since his receipt of the Handbook in 1943, it appears that it was used by him and owned by him until it became a part of his estate. Some published material from Industrial Press will be included in the shipment of this book to the successful buyer.
