Ndebele - ZULU Doll

These dolls are made  by the Ndebele, Zulu and other southern African women to encourage fertility and to instruct girls at time of their initiation into womanhood.  These dolls are handcrafted with decorated beads. The traditional doll's beads represent wealth and social status among the Zulu people.

• Made of Cotton fabric, colorful glass beads, string and wire.
• Decorated with beads. 
• 14” tall, from the bottom of her feet to the top of her crown.
• Very good condition.  Very unusual piece.
