This Submariner Date, Ref. 16800, is approximately 40 years old and is a late model. It features a lustrous black dial with a polished lacquer finish and silver-rimmed luminous indexes. The dial shows some light aging overall, and the luminous paint, including on the hands, has been touched up overall, but otherwise it is in excellent condition with no noticeable damage. The bracelet is Ref. 93150, clasp code K (manufactured circa 1986), and the flip case is 593. It is in excellent condition with minimal slack, making it a rare original. The Ref. 16800 was the first Submariner date watch to feature sapphire crystal and was upgraded from 200m to 300m water resistance. The Ref. 16800 received a dial update in the mid-1980s, making it virtually indistinguishable from its next-generation Ref. 16610. |
